Market wrap-up-Auto stocks slide!

Key benchmark indices hovered in negative zone in mid-morning trade. The S&P BSE Sensex was down 137.54 points or 0.66%, up 28.77 points from the day's low and off 177.05 points from the day's high. The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, was negative. Auto stocks edged lower. Hero MotoCorp rose ahead of its quarterly earnings today, 23 October 2013. Cadila Healthcare rose after the company secured USFDA approval for initiating Phase I clinical trials of ZYDPLA1 --a novel next generation orally active, small molecule DPP-4 inhibitor to treat Type 2 diabetes.

Market Outlook - FIIs, global pension funds!

The 50-share Nifty index is expected to open lower on Tuesday following muted trend seen in other Asian markets. Tracking the momentum, the index is expected to retest its crucial psychological support level of 6,150 in trade today. Overseas acquisition will not drag growth:- Shriram Capital!

Indian markets are expected to open on a muted note on Thursday as the impasse over the debt ceiling in Washington continued with no sign of progress toward a resolution. Market Outlook - Indian rupee snapped a two-day winning streak!

The Indian rupee snapped a two-day winning streak on Monday, weighed down by weakness in domestic shares and hurt by broad-based dollar buying from importers and banks. Market Outlook- Gold eased to around $1,310 an ounce!

Gold eased to around $1,310 an ounce on Tuesday on prospects that the U.S. Federal Reserve will announce a modest reduction in its bond-buying stimulus at its two - day meeting. India doubled its import duty on gold jewellery to 15 percent on Tuesday, setting it higher than the duty on raw gold, which has been hiked three times this year to a record 10 percent.
